Ron White, of the Comedy Tour with Jeff Foxworthy, has a program titled, “You can’t fix stupid…” While it is a funny comedy segment, I disagree with Ron; a man can fix stupid, all they have to do is call in a reservation for any of these events and his loved one will think he is a genius (well, maybe for a short period of time, until we get stupid again.) Smile.

Just had the opportunity to meet with our pastor, which is always a treat for me, as both of us run so hard at so many needs.

Whether you are a person of faith or not, it is a reality that all of us have a choice to find the “good” in the average day. The bad will always find us, we don’t have to go looking for it; it takes an effort to find the good.

Yesterday I wrote on paranoia and Linda thought I had gone nuts, however, the beginning was truthful; there is paranoia in running a small business and especially one that is so dependent upon customers returning.

However, with every sense of paranoia there is a balancing mechanism called “Joy.”

Some people find joy in money, investing, watching it grow, receiving a sense of control and security.
Some people find joy in power, positions overseeing, directing others, being in control and having authority.
Some people find joy in risk, doing something that challenges them emotionally, physically, receiving a rush when the fright is done.

“Honesty,” something my parents instilled; the Marine Corps insisted on; my corporate career demanded; it is a good thing and very cleansing from time to time.

Operating a “Fine Dining,” tea house restaurant has been an incredible honor and journey; however, it comes with a series of paranoia that many will never understand, ie

1) are customers truly happy with the food, service?
2) are they being honest with us?
3) are we just a one time event, and we will never see them again?
4) are we a place that some will never visit, due to someones comment/s?
5) are we located in a location that will never allow us to grow substanially?
6) are local people avoiding us?
