Anniversary

What a great evening, last night, Tuesday, 2/28/12, as we had returning anniversary guests. They told us that they looked forward to coming back for their second year, as it was their annual romantic dinner and they loved the Queen Anne food (we love butter…) the atmosphere and discussions at the end of their meal. We love that part also.

Then they told us that their anniversary picture, from the queen anne, from last year, sits on their mantle of the new home they built, last year, reminding them of their time at the queen anne. WOW, could a customer tells us anything more special? I don’t think so, thank you guys, it means so much.

Took a few days off to get some things done around here, as well as deal with some issues with our carriage house rental (like me, age is showing up, smile.)

During the days off i was amazed at how fast our blog viewing dropped off, like fifty percent the second day with no blog and seventy-five percent the remaining days. Remaining active is something a person must do, or others go on to new things.

Some businesses have a short experience with their customers and its off to the next one, the Queen Anne is different.

When we began this journey, to establish a fine dining facility, we had no direct experience in the food industry. Linda had taken a year long restaurant management school in the early ’80′s as we desired to open a bakery, “Your Daily Bread.” However, our children were teenagers and the priority was their education and attachment to a faith community (the best decision we made was to focus on them, not us.)

For the past three years the queen anne has provided baking/cooking demonstrations where comfort food chef linda ballard, addresses a specific topic.

The time together begins with scones, devonshire cream, jam and a pot of hot, loose leaf tea, as well as a review of the handouts relative to the topic. linda covers the topic, ingredient definitions, recipes, tips and answers questions concerning the topic.

- Thank you, for another “Special” Valentines season. The Father/Daughter and the Mother/Daughter, Son Afternoon/Lunch Teas were a success and the 5th Annual Valentines Sweet Heart High/6 course Dinner Tea was once again sold out, with a ton of prime rib, filet mignon steaks and salmon served to a bubbly crowd.
