Just had the opportunity to meet with our pastor, which is always a treat for me, as both of us run so hard at so many needs.
Whether you are a person of faith or not, it is a reality that all of us have a choice to find the “good” in the average day. The bad will always find us, we don’t have to go looking for it; it takes an effort to find the good.
Example: There are days when customers come to an Afternoon/Lunch Tea that we know their time can be a good, positive memory or it can be something that will taint them coming back. We can allow things to progress and hope good will prevail, or, as we do in most cases, begin the relationship and time with a focus on good. I watch my wife skip by the bad/negative or sometimes threatening and move in the blessings/good, in being able to share a tea together.
As a male I am totally convinced the most important thing we can do in a relationship with a female, children, others, is to find a way to be an encourager, finding the good and joy in most things.
After sixty five years, as a male, I know there can be one of two choices in dealing with opposite sex, critical nature or love. I believe women are gifted with a love component, which men need to learn, and all they need is an example of some one (me, other men,) finding “good,” in all situations. I have never known a critical woman, who has been loved unconditional, by a male.
With children they can see male leadership as being something they want to model or something they do not want in their lives. Children, especially males, gravitate to those who find good and then they have their example. For me, unfortunately, it wasn’t my father it was Billy Graham and our current Pastor Cory, who can stand up in front of thousands of people, speak truth in love and find the good in making the right choices.
For our customers, Lunch and Dinner Teas, we hope you find a couple who begins the time, finding the “good,” and encouraging you, while providing hospitality and fine dining. We never claimed to be the low cost provider, however, we do claim to being the people who make your time at the Queen Anne, a memory.
Thank you, if you have experienced the Queen Anne, for allowing us to practice this principle. Now, go, find the “good,” in something today.
In fact, try not to criticize anything for 24 hours; I did it recently and it is a hard decision, as we are programmed to find something bad or wrong. My 24 hours taught me that there is a lot of “good,” you just have to seek it….
