Recently we had six for High/5 course Dinner Tea, a party of four and a party of two.
We have two small poodles, Annie/12 years old and Cody’man/4 years old, they faithfully wait for us on our second floor living quarters, as we serve teas. Annie is showing some signs of age, so we watch her closer.
During the serving of the five courses I kept hearing what sounded like a dog crying. I mentioned it to Linda and went upstairs to find Annie under our bed, which is normal; but she would not come out.
Finally Linda said she heard the noise and we both became concerned that we might be facing ending times with Annie, as the sound was something like a cry of pain. Both of us became quite concerned, however, we had to finish serving our customers.
We came to dessert time and normally a time where we get to visit with our customers, so while we were with these precious customers it became clear the sound was a customer’s laugh.
Linda and I could hardly make it to the commercial kitchen, before we began to laugh out loud; what we thought was a dying dog was a laughing customer.
You just never know when humor becomes a part of your day.
