As we expand the services at The Canon City Queen Anne “Fine Dining,” Tea House and Special Events Center it has caused some confusion as to where to go for information; the answer, go to www.thecanoncityqueenanne.com it has all the links necessary.
However, here are some details concerning our webpages and services,
- – - Afternoon/Lunch, High/5 course dinner Tea menu information can be found at http://www.thecanoncityqueenanne.com/menupricing.html
- – - “OCTOBERFEST” special menu can be found at http://www.thecanoncityqueenanne.com/octoberfest2011.html
As Linda and I contimplated the concept of expanding our entry way antique/tea treasure exhibits in the tea house we faced a decision as to the value to the “Fine Dining Experience.”
The loss of one of our tea rooms, the Old Country Kitchen, was the next concern as we have customers who traditionally reserved the room due to it’s charm and history.
However, the reality that an individual’s experience at the fne dining establishment kept coming up and the extension of the time in their experience has been confirmed by recent guests.
Fine Dining is becoming a lost art as most everyone is trying to pack in more activities during a normal day, especially if they are visiting a small town like Canon City, CO.
However, as I tell the men, who are brave enough to bring their loved one to a Afternoon/Lunch or High/5 course dinner tea, the time spent in enjoying each other’s comfort, the fine food, the atmosphere and now the antique/tea treasure shopping experience, all combine into something a fast food will never be able to do; “Create a Memory.”
Very few things today create lasting memories, things to cherish and a dedicated time with another person, or group, is a lasting memory to share for all days.
Check us out, www.thecanoncityqueenanne.com, reservations necessary as we prepare every single meal, individually, there is no assembly line in the Queen Anne kitchen. 719 275-5354

AARP magazine had an article which said individuals need a blog, in concert with business blogs. Makes sense and I have a longing to get back into doing some part time consulting, thus, the new blog was launched yesterday. The blog is going to deal with how different I see marketing and sales, using decades of past experience and a flavor for the different. Check it out.

Pie Contest
Linda was asked to be a judge in the 2nd annual Charter School Pie Contest in Guffey, CO (approximately 40 minutes from Canon City, CO)
So, thursday, 2/10, we headed to Guffey and it was good to break the routine, enjoy doing something fun and then get back to a weekend full of events.
After a peaceful trip and a couple of pod cast stories, we arrived at Guffey and drove around a little bit, prior to going to the school. What a wonderful little community, rural, mountain feeling with antique stores and vehicles to view. Arriving at the school, which has 33 students at this time, 1st to 8th grade i believe, we were touched with how inviting it would be to learn in a facility with extremely kind teachers and aids. Linda was one of three judges and she just had a ball, i could tell by her smile. The students put on a fine melodrama and the pie tasting was great; however, the highlight was the auction for the pies to take home. Watching the community kid each other and raise the bids to unbelieveable prices for pie, was full of humor, only out done by the auctioneer who bought his wife’s pie for $160.00 way to go, man. We enjoyed ourselves and met some very wonderful people, who truly care about each other and down the mountain we came, to prepare for a special weekend.
Beginning Sunday, April 18th, the CaƱon City Queen Anne Tea House will provide a monthly Fellowship Brunch to help fund charities.
“We have always tried to find worthwhile activities where the Queen Anne can support charities and non-profit activities,” said Al Ballard, co-owner of the tea house which has been in business for two years. It has been our honor to hold fund raisers for our local history museum, as well as other needs. We have an upcoming fund raiser for the YMCA feasibility study effort in Fremont County (http://www.thecanoncityqueenanne.com/516ymcafundraiser.html) however, we wanted to find something that we could do each month when the weather permits, so guests can enjoy the tea rooms or the veranda, while supporting charities. The concept of a monthly brunch, where a portion of the funds received can be forwarded to a charity fits that goal well.
