The Canon City Queen Anne Antiques/Tea Treasures Retail Store opened September 6th and we have had a new consignor each week since the opening.
Each consignor brings flavor to the diversity in offerings with well over three hundred items for sale in the store, at this time.
Each consignor has shown up with a passion to offer their treasures in the Queen Anne environment, a place where people come to be served “Fine Dining,” on fine china; in a relaxed atmosphere of beauty and charm.
As I prepare the handouts for saturday’s monthly baking/cooking demonstration I am reminded of how talented my dear bride, of 43 years, is and what an opportunity for others to learn the family secrets from Lioutza/sicilian family (linda’s grandparents,) and her mother who was a home economics teacher.
Linda is an amazing lady; a woman of faith who amazes me in how she deals with a person like me; a “roller coaster” type of personality; as well as the diversity in queen anne customers on a daily basis. Also, as I have video taped each baking/cooking demonstration it is clear that Linda is gifted in encouraging, teaching others. She is just a wonderful gift from God, to me, family and others.
There are times that re-charge your battery and teach that others can be such a blessing and a treat in your life; last night, 4/28/10, was one of those.
We had a man come to our front door, a week ago, requesting a reservation for high 5 course dinner tea, for four.
He said he had been to the queen anne before and thought it was the perfect place to ask his dear friends to stand up with him and his future bride.
I received a comment, question, from our blog of yesterday, where we were announcing our move to formalizing our story, the queen anne story, and making it available to others. We were requested to define, “diversity.”
In our case we came to following this dream and desire to serve others from a background in corporate, then private business, focusing on construction, remodeling. We were use to having many choices in the trades, which came equipped to work. We had never operated a fine dining restaurant, however, linda did go to restaurant management school. And, we were pretty sure one of our roles was to be good servants as we were convinced the majority of our customers were not going to be faith based as we were.
